Our Community Activities

Our Parish offers a welcoming community with a wide variety of clubs for all ages, including youth groups, social gatherings, hobby-based activities, and support groups, fostering connection, spiritual growth, and a strong sense of belonging.

What’s on

For Youth

Sunday Club meet in the Welcome Hall just before Sunday worship at 10.30 a.m.  We go into Church together, leaving just after the all-age address when we retire to the upper hall to enjoy our time together.  We welcome all children aged 3 and over up to Primary 7, whether they attend regularly or just when visiting the church.

Netherlee Toddlers meet every Friday from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at Netherlee & Stamperland Parish Church for a warm and welcoming toddler group. This friendly gathering is a great place for little ones to explore, play with a variety of toys, and make new friends in a relaxed environment.

Clarkston After School Service, or CASS, provides both breakfast club and after school care for children attending Netherlee Primary School. We are registered with Care Inspectorate and provide a healthy breakfast and after school snacks every day, as well as fun and stimulating games and activities. We are open from 7.45 am and after school until 6.00 pm each day.

Girlguiding is well served in our community.  From Rainbows for our youngest, to Brownies (we also have a pack that meet in the Scout Hall), and then to Guides girls will find fun and friendship while enjoying a varied programme of activities.

Within our church we have a two very healthy and active Boys’ Brigade Companies, Glasgow 231 and Glasgow 278. Both companies have a separate Anchor Boys and a Junior Section. In Company Section 231 and 278 meet jointly.

Wild Woodland Learning are exactly what they say they are, an organisation which develops children’s love of nature.  They use our halls when the weather is just too bad to venture forth.

Southside Dance Academy offers a range of classes for young people.  From pre-schoolers, through early primary, to juniors and beyond, something for kids of all ages.

For All

Wednesday Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. Afterward, we gather for tea and coffee. On the last Wednesday of each month, we serve a delicious soup and pudding lunch at 11:45 a.m.—everyone is welcome. Come and enjoy warm company and a tasty meal!

Introducing full body Essentrics classes – an intelligent fitness program designed to transform your body through a dynamic combination of strengthening and stretching. Whether you’re 30 or 60 years old, these classes are designed to meet you where you are now.

Yoga Gruham or Yoga Home is creating a friendly community environment to explore the foundations of the Ashtanga yoga sequence.  This framework of postures provides a means by which to explore and experiment with our breath and body.

Sounds International is a multi denominational choir founded in 2004 to promote peace and equality through music. Our programme is very varied from Musicals to Pop, and in keeping with our name, songs in different languages.

Netherlee and Stamperland Walking Group meet every Friday at 2 pm at Linn Park’s Clarkston Road entrance! We split into two teams—one for longer walks and one for shorter ones. Every walk lasts about an hour, and by 3 pm, we enjoy tea and a chat at the church hall.

The Men’s Association is a friendly group of men from the church or connected to it. But don’t worry — ladies are always welcome too! We don’t have a set schedule or committee. Instead, we meet whenever we feel like it to enjoy fun activities together.

The Forum is a monthly event where people meet to hear interesting talks and discuss ideas. It takes place in the Lesser Sanctuary at 7:30p.m. on the third Monday of each month from September to March.

The Netherlee and Stamperland Church Choir meets on Thursdays between September and May to rehearse for Sunday worship.  We also welcome extra voices for the festivals of Christmas and Easter.

Our Scottish Country Dance Club for adults meets in the autumn into winter for dance and friendship.  We would welcome new members to join us.

Southside Dance Academy offers adult commercial dance classes.  A chance to exercise and have fun.

The Trefoil Guild is an organisation for those no longer participating, but with an interest in Girlguiding.

For Older People

The Monday Lunch Club has been running for 10 years and was started by Niall Illingworth. We meet every Monday from 11:00 AM to around 1:30 PM.

Hiring Our Spaces

Our spaces can be hired by groups, families or individuals for regular, occasional or one-off events. We have large and medium sized spaces for activities or celebrations, as well as smaller comfortable rooms that would be ideal for meetings.
